On a fresh install of julia and PythonPlot i get the following error when trying to load it:

The second time I try to use PythonPlot I get the following:

ERROR: LoadError: InitError: could not load library "/home/anton/.julia/artifacts/48d95e60ccfecd4622b42d4fbeda49b2cbc7530b/lib/libQt6DBus.so"

during initialization of module Qt6Base_jll

Which seems to be something broken in the Yggdrasil build of the Qt6Base jll package.

I haven't a clue where to even start debugging this as I am not a conda (pixi, etc) user and this seems like an issue with that side.

    This is not about a Yggdrasil build, you are installing matplotlib via Conda. Googling the error message seems to indicate that you have inconsistent versions of harfbuzz and/or freetype in your CondaPkg. You could try

    using CondaPkg
    CondaPkg.update()

    Yep, the reason I raised the issue here is I already tried the "google the error" routine and tried updating the CondaPkg installed binaries the way you describe (and even blowing away all traces of CondaPkg and installing from scratch), however this doesn't change the symptoms at all. The Qt6Base issue is I suspect an Yggdrasil issue (as there is no reason it should be missing the version symbol, there was some recent issues with Freecad having a broken build due to something similar), but the harfbuzz/freetype issue seems to be something odd on the CondaPkg/PythonPlot end.

    @ranocha

    I observed similar issues. For me, they appear to be solved by JuliaPackaging/Yggdrasil#14573.
